Since the church has recently received emails concerning this sign, we thought we might explain how it may have been misinterpreted by the person who took the picture. The sign is in reference to a song called “The Truth Is” (lyrics below). Of course we believe in using facts to back up our beliefs! The sign was referring to the importance of faith and believing God in impossible circumstances. For instance, if the doctor says I have cancer, that’s a fact. Faith says God can heal me of cancer.

The Truth Is
Verse 1 The fact is you’re caught in a battle, and you feel like you’re losing the war. In fact, it has raged on for so long that your steps have grown weary and sore. That’s just the facts of the matter. The truth has not left you behind. When the facts have you bound up in sorrow, the truth sets you free one more time.

Chorus And the truth is you’re not forsaken. The truth is you won’t be denied. The facts may be stacked up against you right now, but the truth is God’s on your side.
